About Us

Private Media launched LeadingCompany in March 2012 to fill a gap in the business media publishing landscape.

According to GE Capital, mid-market companies - classified as having more than $10m annual revenue - contribute close to $425 billion to the Australian economy each year. These 25,000 companies employ 3.17 million full-time-equivalent employees (a third of Australia's workforce).

Leaders in these companies lack a free daily online news and information resource to guide them through difficult decisions such as creating strategy, increasing productivity, managing talent, upsizing and downsizing, building technology capability and when to choose profit over growth.

SmartCompany and StartupSmart have become Australia's leading source of information and advice for SME and startup business owners and managers. However, there is little Australian content for CEOs, senior executives and entrepreneurs in mid-sized companies to help them navigate the pathway to become a leading company.

To help these leaders of large and mid-market companies we deliver insights and news from a leader’s perspective – deep, thought-provoking articles examining management, strategy, human resources, operations, tax, legal and technology issues.

We walk in the shoes of the business leaders of Australia as they make sense of a future landscape.
