Local shares down: Afternoon market insights

The Australian share market fell today despite positive overseas leads. At 2.45pm the ASX200 was down 0.38% to 4125 while the broader All Ordinaries index fell 0.41% to 4158.2.

Earlier this morning, the dollar hit a six-week high. At the time of publication it was buying $US1.02995.
