Shares march higher after positive overseas leads: Afternoon market insights

Australian stocks rose slightly higher today, following positive overseas leads on Friday night.

By 3pm the ASX200 gained 0.26% to 4288.6, while the broader All Ordinaries index added 0.27% to 4314.3.

The Australian dollar is currently buying $US1.05575.
